Addictions  and Information

The following is a list of some addictions we will try to provide information on, and the resources to help conquer the addiction. Many of the terms used here are complex and will need explanation.         Description of:
Addiction is a psychological and often physiological process where we become dependant on a substance. This is defined by a persistent need to use the substance, and increase dosage to compensate for increased tolerance. Addiction is also characterized by withdrawal symptoms when use of the substance is reduced or discontinued.

        Description of :
For our purposes alcohol refers to ethyl alcohol, ethanol, grain alcohol or the intoxicant in beer, wine and liquors chemically known as C2H5OH. We will look at alcoholism and problem drinking in depth. Much of the information contained hear can also be applied to drugs with few exceptions.
